Sorry to hear about your frustrations...rest assured there are others who feel your pain and have been EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE NOW. Just take a deep breath, tell yourself that you ABSOLUTELY CAN DO IT...and do the best you can. Solicit help whenever you can from those you trust...AND HAVE A GREAT DAY.

Care Plans are probably the most frustrating thing there is, in my opinion LOL I can usually get through the other stuff but care plans seem to kick my butt. But I have had the good fortune to have some really good instructors who do all they can to make this aspect more easier for me. Getting me to look at the over all picture as I walk through a care plan. I was in a Books a Million store the other day and saw a couple very good care plan books. Once you have been doing them, you know what to look for. If you have one close go in and look, and see if they have one that makes more sense to you. A good care plan book to me makes a big diff in how hard it is. I will be getting one or the other before fall semester starts end of Aug. Not a lot of help, but I do understand where ur coming from and hope u get a chance to look at a diff care plan book.
Have A Great day and Be Safe

Ask ask ask especially other students!!! They may have ideas or ways to deal with them that can make the experience less frustrating!

Hang in there--you can do this!
I remember my 1st year of nursing school doing care plans, prep sheets, etc. and I was so frustrated and angry; I was wondering why I was doing this to myself but I hung in there, got the knack of doing them (still don't look forward to them) but now view them as part of the learning experience.
Take care of yourself!!! :)

Don't let those darn careplans blow this for you because this is the only time you will have to deal with them - so do what you have to do to get through them. They will be forever behind you after nursing school. What part is it that is giving you trouble? Get yourself a good nursing diagnosis book that includes rationales, interventions, etc. They are great because you can look up a disease, for example, and the possible diagnoses are all listed. Then you can look up a particular diagnosis and the outcomes, actions/interventions, rationales, priorities, etc, etc, are all there. This book became a bible to every clinical group I've had, and saved me a lot of time and grief! There are many books, the one I have is called: "Nurse's Pocket Guide, diagnoses, interventions, and rationales", by Doenges and Moorhouse. Also there are websites that help. SG
