Ok soooo....I'm only 18, my job now is...well not the best but it's something. I get paid minimum wage and work likeee maybe 22 hours a week...well sometimes, the schedule is ALWAYS changing.

Anywhoo...We are down to one care now because mine is in the shop and it'll be 1300 to get fixed; which I don't have YET.

I want to get a grant to help get a new car...a used honda civic and that's like all I want right now. School is fine, I'm obtaining my AAS. any advice you all have to offer me?

I do not think there are grants for buying people cars. Maybe research the public transportation in your area and save save save.

You might not be able to find help for your car specifically, but you might be able to obtain assistance with other expenses so that you can pay for your car out of the money you save. Check with your county government office (job and family services is often a good place to start) for sources of assistance to those in need. The only problem will be if you're still living at home; that will cut back on your eligibility. But still, it's worth a shot.

In my area, there are quasi-governmental agencies (like community action coalitions) and charities that help people with money from government grants. The job and family services people will probably have a list of those services in your area.

Good luck to you! I know it's a tough spot to be in, but keep trying. Any chance of getting another estimate on the car?

I agree with the above poster, I've never heard of a grant program for car purchases.
