stretch out a scrub top?

Published

So today I finally was able to find a scrub top in my size and color I needed (dickies Malibu blue) anyway I bought it in my reg size (no dressing rooms) and came home...now i cone to find the top is too tight around my mid section and I need it for tomorrow...they're already closed and didn't have a size larger there anyway..do any of you know any ways I could maybe loosen it up? I'm desperate here...maybe a way to wash it or something? I know the odds are slim to none but I figured it's worth a try =\

Unless it's made of knit fabric (unlikely), it's not likely to stretch significantly. Washing will only make it snugger (esp. putting it in the dryer). I'm a big fabric/fiber person, and I don't have any helpful suggestions.

Would wearing a tighter bra than usual or a girdle/shaper help? It would be easier to "shrink" you :) than to stretch the top.

Thanks..I guess I'll go back out tomorrow before work at 11 to hunt for another shirt in that color....it's ridiculous how hard they are to find! and they HAVE to be the dickies malibu blue color which doesn't match any other brands malibu blue =[ thanks anyway!

wow, standardization on one company's color, without out allowance for variation in shade. nice.

unfortunately for your organization, "dickies medical" was a private label brand manufactured by selecta corporation. selecta has recently closed their doors. the private label brand license has been awarded to strategic partners and new products from them (not the old ones from selecta) should be available in fall 2010.

maybe you should inform them that it is an unreasonable expectation for them to insist you buy scrubs that no longer exist.

side note... those lovely 6-pocket pants that were getting hard to find are now gone from dickies.com. they may not be back from the new company, due to ownership of design and other issues, find them where you can.

wow I'm going to miss those pants :crying2:... I am going to let them know...they originally just had it as malibu blue however every brand has a different shade and the vary quite a bit.so they decided to come up with narrowing it down..unfortunately we can't seem to find anything that comes close to it =/.. mind you we also do NOT get a uniform allowance so this is ridiculous all around the board if you ask me.
