here in NJ the average is between $13 and $17 an hours...some more some (sadly) less...but most of the ER's here require you to be an EMT with a min of 2 years experience...but it's a good job for all us future ER nurses out there :)

I am an Emergency room tech. They call us ER Techs/critical care techs...At my job we are all EMT's and also either med or nursing students and we all have at least 3 years Emergency Medical experience. We do a variety of things including but not limited to phlebotomy, EKG's, start IV's, basic patient care, assist in procedures, and get LOTS of hands on experience. It really is a great opportunity to learn when your in school and at every ER that I work in, if you work as tech while in nursing school and do a good job you're pretty much guaranteed a job there after you're licensed. It's great, I have to say it's probably the best job to have while in school if you're really looking for clinical experience.:)

I'm a CCT (Critical Care Tech) in an ER and I needed at least 2 years on EMS experience, plus phlebotomy and EKG certs..along with recommendations, I really think the only difference between a CCT and PCT is the phlebotomy so I would think it would be something similar in requirements. wow I'm going to miss those pants ... I am going to let them know...they originally just had it as malibu blue however every brand has a different shade and the vary quite a bit.so they decided to come up with narrowing it down..unfortunately we can't seem to find anything that comes close to it =/.. mind you we also do NOT get a uniform allowance so this is ridiculous all around the board if you ask me.

Thanks..I guess I'll go back out tomorrow before work at 11 to hunt for another shirt in that color....it's ridiculous how hard they are to find! and they HAVE to be the dickies malibu blue color which doesn't match any other brands malibu blue =[ thanks anyway!

So today I finally was able to find a scrub top in my size and color I needed (dickies Malibu blue) anyway I bought it in my reg size (no dressing rooms) and came home...now i cone to find the top is too tight around my mid section and I need it for tomorrow...they're already closed and didn't have a size larger there anyway..do any of you know any ways I could maybe loosen it up? I'm desperate here...maybe a way to wash it or something? I know the odds are slim to none but I figured it's worth a try =\

I don't have any advice being I have yet to take the test but I wanted to wish you luck and I understand about the balancing act of work and school (I'm working 2 jobs and going to school as well) good luck and keep us posted!!:wink2:
