Stressing over TEAS test - failed one section twice

Nursing Students TEAS

I have taken the TEAS test twice now and failed one section - grammar. Not by much but still did not pass one section according to the school. My math, science, reading, etc were all in the 80's. I have my associates degree with a 3.6 gpa. I have all my pre-reqs with an A or B in all of them. Do different schools have different passing grades. I know the one I was trying to get into only lets you take the TEAS test twice and requires high scores in every section - they do not take an overall score. I'm very frustrated. Help.:crying2:

Yes every school creates their own method of what is passing and failing

thank you for the response. Does that mean I retake the TEAS test when I apply at a different school?

Well I think it would depend on the school and what their rules are. How many time you take the test will be available to every school from ati. So I guess if you are asking if you didn't do well a second time and then switched schools and teh new school still only allowed you to take ity twice then you couldn't take it again. However, many schools have different rules. The schools by me are very different, my school only allows you to take it twice but another university by me will let you take it as many times as you want. So it just really depends on the school.

Does anyone have a clue as to what the cut off is for Kingwood College for the RN program starting in the spring? I heard last year the cut off was 11.4 and up. I pray to God it is that or 11.5 and up. I made a 11.57 and I hope that is good enough to get accepted into the program! Say a prayer for me please, I am praying for you all too. Can somebody please let me know. Acceptance letters go out in October. Does anyone know when those go out?

I found out that my TEAS test score was good for the other school that I was applying at but said that I can retake it as many times as I want there - they put a lot of emphasis on the GPA and References as well. The another school said that they require that you take the TEAS at their school and won't even look at the ones you did before so I would have to retake it again anyway. Guess they are all different. We'll see what happens. I'm not giving up till I get into one of them - I know this is what I want to do and will make it happen.

I am in California just yesterday I failed my second attempt at the TEAS. I am so upset and don't know what to do, Because according to everyone here you only get two shots and your out. Ive worked so hard to get where I am and can't accept that this is it? Does anyone know what States allow a person more than two attempts at the TEAS:confused:.......:crying2:

I failed my teas twice an I live in california..do you have any suggestions on what I can do some schools wont let me apply anymore;(...I am feeling very frustrated..can someone please help...

I would recommend getting a review book and working on it. Grammar has always been my worst section.

The McGraw Hill book has a TON of grammar review but I think it was so much harder then the ATI review book. Im sure you can get all your scores up by reviewing that book. Try working out all the practice problems page by page. Make notes and go over it a few times. You need to read the sentence out to yourself and see how it sounds to find the correct usage or whatever they need. Here is a page I used with my kids when they had been homeschooling. It has free online review of grammar. KISS Grammar -- Printable Books You can select different grade levels. Maybe you can try the 11 or 12 grade and if you go all the way to the bottom it has by subject. It doesnt matter if you stay within grade level...the material is the same across the board. (dont feel bad doing low grades...sometimes it is easier since it is simple) It just gets more difficult. You should pay attention to prepositional phrases if you can identify those you can cross them out and identify nouns and verbs easier.
