I am in my last semester of RN and hope to graduate this spring. The problem is the only experience I have is working as an LPN at a facility that houses the mentally challenged. There is nothing wrong with this work and I plan to stay there until graduation, but I'm scared to death to apply at a hospital. I feel as if I don't have the experience I need to go into the hospital setting. I feel as if I have the correct knowledge but have no hands on training as far as a hospital setting goes. Does anyone have any advice or an opinion on this? Does anyone know of a way to get some hands on training while you're still in school?

I worked as a tech my last six months of school and this helped.
But you're an LPN and in school, so starting a new job in a hospital while still in school and with the expectations of an LPN might be a bit much.
Quite a bit of us didn't have much experience. Find a place that hires new grad RNs with a good orientation, and you'll do fine.
Best of luck to you.

You do clinical in a hospital setting, right? You DO have experience! Regardless of the whether you're working as a CNA or at Pizza Hut, you have the skills to work as a novice nurse. That's what your orientation and preceptorship is for--- EXPERIENCE!!!! -A
Thanks so much for the support, I really appreciate it. I realize that I know more than I think I do sometimes it's just applying it, which comes with experience. Thanks again!!
