I have a Sr., lady aged late 80's that I've tried to straight cath twice, failed twice. She has had enough to drink but I couldn't thread the needle so to speak. I'm a newbie, only saw males get cathed. hat am I doing wrong. It's easy to go into the VJ but i'm not. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

Are you trying to do it alone?Try getting a second person to help with positioning.Sometimes a flashlight helps with seeing what you are doing.A nurse I work with has a trick for finding the meatus. When she cleanses the area before insertion she uses lots of solution.it runs down and pools in the meatus, making it easier to find.
Thank You !! I feel so bad for my res. ThANKS Again!! I will definitely try the flashlight & extra liquid.

Extra set of hands will be worth it!
The best thing I can tell you is make sure you are heading NORTH!
Good luck
