I was a B student who desperately wanted to be an A student. I did manage to get an A in pharm and 2 out of the 3 med surges. I also got an A in Mental Health, Peds and OB.
That darn final semester of Med Surge.....uggghhh...B and not a B+ either.
Ummmm but I barely passed Micro...thank god for the extra credit. and lets not talk about algebra and chemistry.

I've got straight A's....if you consider A- as A's. Not everyone does, but I sure do! I got A+ in Pharm and all my Med Surg classes. I got A- in Legal and Ethical nursing and Leadership.

I don't have the book but I looked it up on Barnes and Noble and they have it. You could probably find it relatively cheap on half.com

I am a average B student I guess, B+, B-, ocassional A, A-, and the very ocassional C, C+. I tend to be a perfectionist and found not getting A's when I was trying so hard a real hard thing, BUT a very wise tutor told us one day, Quote; "C's Make Degree's". I love it, she is so right, and nursing is so much more than Academics, its about compassion, caring, it's both an art and a science!
Love and light,
P.s Doesn't mean I still don't want A's!! LOL:D

I did use the Straight A's series and Medical-Surgical Nursing: Reviews & Rationales (by Mary Ann Hogan and Tomas Madyag from Prentice Hall). I found both series helpful for class, content review for tests, care plan prep and even used them for my NCLEX review. I specifically used Hogan's Pharmacology: Reviews and Rationales to prepare for the NCLEX. I do recommend them and suggest you look for discounted/used copies on Half.com or even ebay. Hope the info helps.
