Just finished my first year at Stony Brook/2yr Nursing program. Anyone that has questions about the program feel free to ask.

Hello EMT-Native,

I just got accepted into the program and will begin the fall of 2011. I will really like to know your first year experience. From the rigorous work load to the how many hours to study you must put in daily. Thanks a bunch for your help. Also do they have tutoring??

First year is a lil chaotic at SB. They throw a lot of stuff at you and you are supposed to know a lot of material by the second day. Your first semester you will be taking Fundamentals of nursing, Med-math, Nursing prospective and theory and health assessment. Oh and mid semester you get two more classes Healthcare policy and pathology.

I studied in the beginning about 4 hours after class when i got home and 1-2 hours before class the next day cause i had to get to school early to beat the traffic.

Study/tutoring will be with your classmates. you will get close with them fast.

We will be meeting your incoming class i think to help you with your first couple of days.

Any questions feel free to ask away.

The teachers will help you get going they borderline baby you for the first couple of weeks.

oh wow! thanks a lot for your help.

Hi EMT-Native!

I got accepted into the 2 yr program and I'm starting this fall. I wanted to know how your schedule was for both lecture and clinicals just to have an idea of how the first semester would be like. Thank you so much for your help. =)
