Hello everyone!
I applied to Stony Brook’s PMHNP program 11/30. I haven’t heard anything back. Just wondering if anyone else has applied/gotten an interview.
Thanks!
I am not sure if they still are. During my interview in December they told me I will hear back in early February. I still haven’t. I applied to post masters program though. Another person here posted that they interviewed in January so there is some sort of spacing in between I guess because of Covid. Let’s all keep hope alive. Maybe you will get more clarification with the email and share with us. I check my email every 5 minutes each day. The waiting game is no joke. I hope that it will works out for us...
Hi all,
I applied to the PMHNP program at the end of November and interviewed in mid-January. My friend also applied and interviewed in December. When I interviewed they said that we would hear back in mid-March and that orientation will be in April.
It's so nerve wracking. Mid-March can't get here soon enough!
Hi 1nfirmiere,
I am sorry to hear this, based on your profile you have 17 years experience and is a psych nurse, sounds like you are a good candidate to me. I am kind of worried also. I had an interview but I didn't hear back from them as yet. Maybe you should email them to hear what they have to say. I emailed them but I am waiting on a reply, I received an auto reply that says application decisions will be sent on in mid March.
Keeping hope and courage alive...
Hi 1nfirmiere! Hey, this is a really tough process and I very much appreciate your years dedicated to the profession. It would make sense that you would have the opportunity to advance. I have not received an interview and have about 10 years under my belt as a nurse. I've worked in crisis and currently manage an outpatient behavioral health program in primary care. What I know of Stonybrook is that it is VERY competitive. I've resolved to not giving up even if I'm denied this go-around. What that means is applying to other schools, taking some graduate classes non-matriculated in contribution of my GPA and academic advancement, and even applying again to Stonybrook at a later date if necessary. I'm sending my well-wishes to you and hope you get the opportunity to live your truth if this is what you want for yourself. Hang in there!
It’s bizarre that none of us got in so far in this forum. I wonder how many students they accepted for the PMHNP program this year. I feel really bad for all of us. I can only imagine how you all feel.
like Ewall said, it’s their loss. I am not going to beat myself up over this.
Stay positive you guys, it will feel better tomorrow.
