hi
to answer your question. the program you are looking at is for RN's only. since you have a BA, then you might want to apply to the accelerated program which is intense, and you will graduate in a year and have your bachelors in nursing. i am actually in the program that you have posted about, I already was a RN, graduated in 05, and got into the online RN-BSN-MSN program. StonyBrook does not have an online BSN program for non-nurses. Its either traditional 2 yr BSN program or BSN program for those who have a bachelors or online or onsite for RN's who want to obtain their BSN/MSN. Hope this helps you and good luck!

Hello, NYRN05 I'm just curious about the online RN-BSN program, do you have to go on campus to do any hybrid type courses. Do you have clinicals? And also if you can some of the courses you are taking. Or maybe a link, i tried looking up the program but I found more like the 2 yr traditional program. Any other info on the program would be awsome, and how you are liking it.
Your are enrolled in the Stony Brook Online RN-BSN? I'm really interested in the program and started filling out the online application today. It difficult to get information from their website. I graduate with my RN in May and the online program starts in the summer. Can I apply before I pass the NCLEX? I read somewhere you just have to pass the NCLEX within 6 months of being admitted to the program. Is this correct? Also . . . is the Online (distance learning) program considered part time or full time? Thanks so much!!

Has anyone looked into or have taken their program? This is really (for right now) a last resort for me. I will be taking my pre-reqs starting this summer at BMCC or at NYCT (not sure which one). Reading all of the boards about the competitiveness of the "brick and mortar" classes is a little depressing. I'm seriously considering applying to their online nursing program for people with a non-nursing bachelor's degree, however considering how difficult nursing is, I'm worried that the online courses will be practically unbearable.
Could someone tell me more about what I should expect from their online curriculum?
P.S. - I'm no newbie when it comes to online courses (took some at John Jay College)
