Stony Brook FNP Summer 2021

Hi Everyone

     Has anyone apply for the FNP program Stony Brook? Is anyone get interview?

As far as I know, everyone who submitted everything they asked for should get an interview. They grade the essays, interviews, and weigh GPA and go from there. So definitely keep an eye out for their email, spam as well.

@Deerunnergirl I didn’t think to ask! They gave us time to ask questions at the end, but everyone I interviewed with was so impressive and I think I was too nervous to think of a good question for them. But they did tell us that they’ll be starting their acute care PNP next year which is really exciting! 

@FutureNP2023 I don’t think that’s true... last year 600 people applied for their FNP program and only 100 were interviewed for ~60 spots. I think it’s the most competitive program in New York.

Still haven’t heard anything but it seems other people are getting PNP interviews already. I have a feeling I won’t be getting one, but since they pushed back the deadline maybe they didn’t have a lot of applicants? Hard to keep hopeful.

So I went back to the PowerPoint presentation they sent and it said applicants who met the criteria were granted an interview. I misremembered and thought it said everyone who submitted everything they wanted was given interviews. Sorry for that misinformation. So now the waiting game begins!!

  • HI, a powerpoint presentation came after I signed up for an interview. It just went over the program, like the classes, clinical hours, and such. Really felt like they were trying to answer any and all questions before the interview to streamline it.

Hi all!

Has anyone else received an interview for the FNP program or know if they are still conducting interviews? I applied in November and have yet to hear back so I'm a bit discouraged :(
