STLCC student looking for RN to BSN options

Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hi everyone,

I am graduating the nursing program at Saint Louis Community College at Meramec in a few months, and I am wanting to start a BSN program in the fall. I am looking at Webster, UMSL, Maryville, and SLU. I applied for Webster, but haven't sat down with the advisor yet to go over my transcript. One of the nurses that I work with graduated from Goldfarb, but had taken many prereqs at STLCC. She told me that she tried to do the same thing, but the advisor told her they didn't accept a lot of credits from the community colleges. I wanted to do Webster or SLU because they work through BJC and the tuition would be substantially lower than if I went elsewhere. Also, I want to get started as soon as possible and avoid taking classes I have already passed. Has anyone else been in this position, and if so, how did you go about finding a program that accepted credits from community college?

Just saying I graduated from Meramec Dec. 2010! As far as looking for BSN options not really sure. I havent looked yet. Focusing on boards right now. Good Luck!

Arizona State University or University of Texas-Arlington offer programs that accept many of your cc credits. I am at ASU and they accepted 75 of my CC credits

I have heard that Texas-Arlington is a very cost effective way to go. I believe the program is under $7000.00 and I've heard that you don't have to do any clinical hours with that program, that it is strictly online. A few of my old co-students are looking into Texas-Arlington.
