Hello everyone!
A bit about myself. I practiced nursing for 6 years before alcoholism and addiction took me down. I lived in AZ at the time, and I failed the CANDO program (I did not complete due to moving out of state). I recently applied for re-issuance with 12 years clean and sober. Sent in all paperwork and questionnaires.
On their website, it stated the overall time frame can be up to 270 days for consideration. However, the investigator called me and told me they are currently taking 11-12 months. Does anyone have any current experience with AZ BON?
Let me also add, I am aware of the restrictions/money/time I will have to endure. It is the least of my worries. I will happily jump through their hoops and attend meetings, as I have been for 12 years. I know they are trying to protect the public from impaired nurses. I see other complain about the one size fits all programs/restrictions, however, at least they have something in place that allows nurses like me to have a second chance.
Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from someone soon!
Peace :)

I don't know anyone in AZ but will keep my ears open. What's your lawyer situation?
I do not have a lawyer. Cannot afford one at this time. Looking at some of the cases in AZ, it seems like the programs are the same with and without an attorney.

Not in Arizona but mine in Texas took close to 2.5 years. Continue with your life, as hard as that may sound. There are almost 10 steps/processes in texas and each took up to 3 or 4 months.
