Steps to help an impaired colleage

Hi all,

I'm working on a presentation for school about ethical issues in nursing and am looking for information regarding substance abuse and nursing... particularly the legal and ethical issues surrounding it, and some kind of outline for steps to follow to help an impaired colleague. I thought there was usually some kind of hospital policy to follow, however, apparantley I have to come up with some general guidlines/steps. Anyone have any ideas on resources where I could find information on this?

i would call the BON in your state they can give you info.. good luck in school
