I know that you can transcribe the College Algebra with Fort Hayes State University, so it doesn't show as being through Straighterline. But I have found conflicting info on being allowed to transcribe Stats as well. Anyone have any info, or done so? My RN to BSN program I am applying to will accept ACE credits, but I worry about when I apply for a psych NP program.

I think I heard that FHSU is no longer transcribing courses from SL. When they did , the only ones they did transcribe were Accounting I/II, Macroecon and Algebra. I had MAcro and Algebra transcribed their as well as on my ace transcript.
I took a ton of SL courses but I think I will only go as far as a masters and may stick with Excelsior for that.

Thanks. I guess I will have to contact them before I take it to make sure I can still transcribe the Algebra. There are some other places that cost a little more but are still online and fully accredited, that are shorter.

I am curious of this as well, I am looking into Aleks for College Algebra and statistics and transcribing on Ace transcript to transfer to WGU. They said they accept ACE credits.
Looks like FHSU stopped transcribing as of 9/1/11. I know I could still take it through them, because Ohio University where I am hoping to do my BSN does take ACE. But I just don't want to chance it when it comes to an NP program. I'm thinking I will go with Rio Solado. They are $215 a credit hour, which costs a bit more. But they start classes every Monday, so I don't have to wait for January to start. They do an 8 or 16 week Algebra, Chem, and statistics classes. They are fully accredited as well. So works for me.
I just have to find out about the placement test for Math. I have 2 prep classes on my transcripts, but they are like 8 years ago so not sure how that will play out.

I took College Algebra in a weekend with Straighterline and was already a monthly subscriber at the time, I took a bunch of courses thru SL (Algebra, Stats, Business Comm, Chem +Lab, Bio, Eng 1, Eng 2, Med Term) because I know Excelsior was my choice. I'm going to take Western Civ and US history as well as Pharm I & II, I was in the trial group for free access to Pharm but never completed it because I was knee deep in LS1 at the time (it would have been free for me to do both and receive credit, but life happens).
If time is an issue, knock out Algebra with Straighterline in a weekend and in the future if it won't fly, retake it.

That is an idea. That way if I get lucky, I will find a school who accepts it. If I don't, than I just take the 8 week course then, and will just be more prepared for it. I also need statistics and Chem. But Chem I will just do the full 16 week course I think. But if I do it this way it does allow me to knock them out sooner.
How hard was stats through them?

I actually took Stats and Chemistry, I rented the book for Chemistry from Chegg and Stats I had Stats Demystified. Stats is doable, but I'm not a math person. I just tried to pass (I think my overall was an 86-87%, but 70% is all you need) for Chem I had a 90% overall (wish I could get letter grade for that one). Both were done in less than 30 days. Chem was a long one though
I am horrible at Math, but I have a few people who are going to help me if needed, who are excellent at it. Is Chem approved for ACE credits now? I may just do them all through them.
I'm not sure, but a few people said that as long as I have a BSN, I should be fine for a masters either way. Not sure how true that is though.
All of Straighterline's courses are ACE approved, now. They typically do not release new courses until they complete the ACE review process which is why it takes so long and it could be that the new releases did not include the full list of anticipated courses like US history I, they may need to tweak it a bit in order to get ACE approval. But yeah - chem is tough ( I took the lab part too ) but google will be your friend, it was easier than using the actual text on things.
Great thank you. I will see how I do with Algebra and statistics, then decide about Chem from there. I appreciate the help!
