State Surveyors

Could I get some feedback on different people's experiences while the state surveyors were at your LTC facility? And maybe some rules and such that I should keep in mind when I am in this situation in the future. Thanks!

Busybee-- one thing the surveyors will look at you are following your facility's protocols. If the protocol says to wash your hands after passing meds to each resident then that's what you had better be doing. If it says to wash after every three and sanitizer in between then at the very least you need to do that. Wash before putting on gloves, if you have to change gloves, then sanitize before putting on fresh pair. Wash after removing gloves and before leaving the room.

Biggest thing is that you are following policy as well as pt careplans.
