You need to do your own research in regards to which state to choice, most require CGFNS input and can take anything up to 4-6 months before you get eligibility to sit NCLEX. Suggest a good read here in the forum

If you plan on working in CA then your best bet is to use CA as your state. CA does require a valid ss# in order to apply for the NCLEX. Even if you use a state that doesn't require a ss# and plan on endorsing back into CA you will still need to meet CA requirements if you were educated out of this country. If you were educated in this country then the process is much quicker. Since it's obvious you need help with your English you should take some classes to assist you. Lots of foreign educated nurses don't pass the NCLEX and it's usually because of the language barrier. You want to make sure you are fully prepared for the exam before taking it. Go to amazon.com and read the reviews for the NCLEX review book before purchasing one. Good Luck

i went here in CA for a vacation that's why i don;t have an ssn. i'm a nurse in the philippines and want to try the NCLEX while i am here but unfortunately i just got a TIN. in the application form it says SSN is for tax purposes so i assume iTIN will do in just applying the exam.. i talked to somebody who took an exam 2 or 3 yrs ago and used here iTIN. She passed and get her license when she got a SSN.

all i want is to challenge taking an NCLEX exam here in CA. my mind is still fresh in the nursing lecture that's why i want to take it now.

California changed the rules middle of 2010 and as far as I am aware will no longer accept ITIN.

oh ok.. same thing, CA law changes every now and then.. how unfortunate i am.. but i am looking for another state for an nclex that will not require SSN. what is the better state you think?

The thing to be aware of is it can take 4-6 months just to get eligibility to sit NCLEX so you may have to consider starting the process but having to sit NCLEX outside of the US
