A few questions:
What is in a SEN's scope in the UK, as compared to an RN's scope in the UK?
What is the average salary for a new grad and experienced SEN?
How long must one go to school in the UK to become a SEN? I know it can no longer be earned in Britain, but what about, say, in Eire?

sens havent been trained in the uk for a long time, their scope of practice is exactly the same as an rn, but can only work if there is an rn on the same ward, the only thing that they are not allowed to do is check controlled drugs with each other, that is comparable to an sen asking another sen to waste narcotics with each other, it must be an rn,
of course, the scope of practice may be restricted in some trusts but that was the way it used to be written.
the training is 2 years long and is comparable to the rn training in the us which is only 18 months and thats with the students working as well, uk training is always full time, with no time for the students to work.

Think it varied from hospital to hospital as I was a EN and regularly worked on my own on night duty with a RN working between the unit. Sometimes we would have a RN between 2 wards but not often. Stopped training them approx 20 years ago which I thought was a shame and a drain on the wards and at times think HCA are a cheaper way to replace them
