State BON's that don't require graduation for NCLEX?

Does anyone know about taking the NCLEX after completion of coursework with EC for another state if the state allows you to test with an affidavit of completion? Any of you EC grads take your boards for another state and endorse in to your state?

I talked to a local friend of mine who is an EC grad, CPNE completed beginning of June, and FL will not TOUCH her application unless they have diploma in hand... then they have to process it all. My boss is really, really pushing me to be done and have RN license in hand BY November...

My grad date based on my CPNE date is November 18th.... but if I complete the CPNE on Sept 11, is there a way that I can test in another state as soon as EC updates my transcripts by sending affidavit of completion? I have been looking at NY, TX, MN and NC.... not sure if I am reading their rules right.

I have a feeling this would be quicker than waiting for graduation and then FL BON to update me and then waiting for ATT and then having to find an opening to schedule...

ANY help would be appreciated!!!!

Hey,

Texas only requires the affidavit of graduation, which EC sends after they get the word that you are done with your last requirement. I did cpne july 22 and today they emailed me that they sent over paperwork to the tx bon. So it only took them 2 weeks. I applied for licensure and paid pearson vue as soon as I was done, so Im hoping it wont be much longer that I get my ATT.

Hope that helps! I know the nursing board people at excelsior were really helpful with my questions about this stuff too!

i am in new jersey and they let me take the nclex-rn with just the "letter of qualification" from ec. no transcript and no graduation needed. i took nclex-rn october 4, 2010 and graduated with ec october 15, 2010.

i think there are more states who allow this. search one of sweettartrn (s/p?) posts and she posted some states that do this, i think.

good luck!

Thanks for your responses guys! I found her post about Minnesota :-)

I am going to call the NY BON today (since that is where EC is) and ask what they require, since maybe it would get there quickly since it was in state.

I hope that when I pass CPNE 9/11 if I can find a state to accept everything within 2 weeks, I will be able to be an RN by middle of October.... going to call and talk to FL BON today too and see just how long I would have to wait for endorsement. I have a feeling it would still be quicker than waiting for graduation date and processing.

NY requires you to have diploma. MN and TX are the only two I know of off the top of my head.

I checked at the Louisiana SBON and I THINK they just need a letter from the dean of EC stating I graduated then I can test..... hoping this is the case!!
