Hello all will be starting my adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner program at Walden September2. Just wondering if there is anyone else starting a Walden NP program at this time?

Will be good knowing i have classmates out there. Originally I was planning to attend Kaplan university- as this is where I received my BSN but changed my mind due to poor customer service and feeling devalued as a perspective student.

Any one have any advice or questions for me> I am so excited

How's the program going? I'm gathering up my application documents for a possible December 1st start date.

Their application process so far has been a night-mare... had to resubmit my work history form because all my T's weren't crossed and I's dotted. I've had tax forms get scrutinized less than this!

Same here. I had to resubmit my forms too.But my advisor is very helpful. All I did is scan and email the forms. I am waiting for their response now.

Hi all,

I'm having a hard time talking to anyone about clinical sites. I've called multiple hospitals, LTACs & primary care offices & no one seems to have the common decency to return a phone call. Did anyone actually speak with a physician about preceptorship or did you just write down where you "plan" to go for clinicals? I'm at a point where I'm about to write down where I plan to go, since none of those sites have called me back they'll probably not return Walden's phone calls either.

My advisor told me that I can write preceptor's name not necessarily have to go their for rotation. Check with your friends's co worker who is in NP programe and you can follow the same.

I'm in for December 1st as well.

How is the program going so far? How are the classes? Are books online or physical books? Has anyone started clinicals? How was the process of selecting clinical sites? I am thinking about apply for ACNP at Walden. What made you all decide to do ACNP instead of FNP? Thank you all for your feedback in advance.
