Starting Pay for CNA in Illinois?

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

I recently took the CNA Exam and I think I passed it.

I'm going to start looking for CNA jobs,

but I'm not sure how much hourly pay should I be expecting.

I heard some places even asks you to put your desired hourly pay range..

What would be the reasonable pay range for new CNA?

I'm going to look for jobs in the suburb.

Is there a pay range difference between hospital and nursing home/rehab jobs?

Also, is there a lot of difference between working at hospital and nursing home?

(types of work that you have to do, working hours.. etc)

Non experienced CNAs can start from 9-10.. Really depends on the facility.. Most hospitals require atleast a year of experience... i worked in a jnuraing home for about 3 montha and would never go back.. I work in a hospital now as a PCT but i have phlebotomy and EcG certificates as well so they waved the experience

I was hired into a hospital with no experience.

That was 5 years ago.

At that time I was started at 14 dollars an hour.

Just got a got at St. Alexius as a PCT and my shift will be PM's and my pay will be 12 an hour during the day it is 11! Hope this helps!

Sincerely,

Sara :)
