This was my final semester and I withdrew due to not being able to cope with a dysfunctional nursing school. I am moving across the country at the end of this month.
How realistic is it that another nursing program will accept me in my new state? Is this something that nursing programs frown upon and will prevent me from completing a program I invested so much time in?
Has anyone else had success in being accepted into a new nursing program? If so, was it an uphill battle or is it relatively easy?
Thank you in advance for any information anyone can offer!

Apply and see what happens. If they ask during an interview why you left the first program tell them you had family issues which were resolved when you moved. Don't let "what if's" ever hold you back. EVER.

I also agree that you should apply in your new location however please do some soul searching before you start over. Imo most of our nursing schools were dysfunctional and it doesn't sound like you are taking any ownership in whatever happened that resulted in you dropping. Without a better strategy you might just find yourself in the same situation and that would indeed be a waste of your time and a waste of a sought after seat in the nursing program. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Not a pipe dream at all.....we've had students that came into my nursing program my second year from a nursing school only 25 miles from mine. I say go for it! I don't think it will be frowned upon at all.

I don't think it would be frowned upon...but what were the circumstances surrounding you leaving NS? After all, EVERY school is going to have issues. I would be prepared to just keep your head down for 2 years, and get it done. But, do it...you don't want to be looking back going "what if?"
