Hello future Nurses!
Next Summer I am graduating with my BS in Sociology W/Emphasis in Social Work from Grand Canyon University. Immediately after I am planning on jumping right into Nursing school so I have taken the liberty of knocking out pre-reqs at Dallas College such as Elementary Statistics, Lifespan Psychology, AP I&II and Biology. I am going to try and take Chemistry but I have applied to several nursing schools. Texas Christian University is my top choice, but I am also looking at Concordia Texas University, UTA and Texas Woman's University. I need motivation because so far the pre-reqs are not difficult. Statistics is not as dreadful as I thought it would be, but I am taking the TEAS IV and wanted to know of any type of prep courses or tutoring that may be available. The Reading, Writing, and Sciences I am pretty sure I will ace with flying colors but Math and I are not friends at all and I'm positive that will be the lowest score I'll get LOL! Probably not with the right amount of preparation and that's what I need y'all for LOL any motivation or tips to giving myself the best chance of getting accepted into either Nursing program will be greatly appreciated!

Good luck! You can do this! I don’t have any specific tips but make sure you know what each nursing school you’re applying to requires and what they’re looking for, and staying on top of any dates and deadlines they have.

I see that TCUs requirements are a little relaxed. They do not require Chemistry as a required science but I am going to take it anyway just because I see that both the HESI and TEAS IV have a little of it in the exams
I would look and see what the other programs you are interested in require as well to make sure you are taking the correct Chemistry class and any other required classes.

Best of luck to you. I was also in your position as well until I got accepted into my community college nursing program also starting in fall 2022. The best advice I could give is to get all your prereqs out of the way before you enter your program and continue to follow up about specific requirements to make sure that you are taking the correct steps. You can do this!!
