School: St. Joseph's College of Nursing
Program type: ASN
Start date: August 23
But my program is unique because it's a 1+2+1 BSN program. I just finished my first year, at Le Moyne College, so next year is the first of the middle 2 (associates nursing) years, and the last year is back at Le Moyne to finish the requirements for a bachelors.

My school doesn't allow PDAs and cell phones. Maybe yours doesn't either.

We don't find out where our clinicals will be until class starts unfortunately, or they might put up the list at Orientation but that still isn't until the week before class starts lol. Our clinicals don't start until October though. I am hoping I get the hospital right across the street from our school but with my luck I'll get the furthest hospital or something. We are required to have a PDA as well and buy the Nursing Constellations package. I'm going to get an iTouch for that because I have a BBerry, but it doesn't have that much space and some hospitals might have issues with carrying and looking things up on a phone. Plus the temptation of texting.
I have my list and I'm still working on getting everything. I'm getting my physical assesment kit (blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, pen light ect) sometime this month along with CPR and the background/drug screening. I started on my health form but it's taking forever to get everything filled out. We didn't get info on our scrubs yet, but like I said since clinicals don't start until October so probably at orientation. People are still being accepted into our program.

I know that most of us are going to different schools but I figured it would be kinda cool to start one of these threads specific to people that are doing programs in NY. This has been done in other threads. So we can vent our frustrations, or just wait in anticipation for the next few weeks.
