I am STOKED!!!!!! got my books like 4 weeks ago and am already busting out my highlighters on the pages and studying like crazy. I know it's not going to be easy, I know come clinical that A) it will be in a nursing home to start with (my personal prefrence is for the young end of life span...but that's just ME, and I am open minded as all heck) and oh yeah...I'm gonna have someone elses life in my hands!!
But that aside (guh!) I am totally excited to go to it! :balloons:

Got a kick out of reading your post! It sounds like you love books and reading. That's good because you'll be doing a lot of that. Keep your positive attitude and perky character. Hope your student experience is everything you are hoping it to be. :yeahthat:

So how was your first day, Strandysmommy?
So far it's been good. We're learning some theory stuff...kinda the history of nursing and some ethics and law stuff too. We got a skills packet, and a lot of it looks alarmingly like the stuff I learned in my CNA training...I don't wanna make an occupied bed again! (Sorry, it was a sore spot with me).
But it was good...it's just fundementals and a medical law and ethics course (given with students from all the health care programs) and Med-Surg starts on the 19th of September. Our teacher is crazy and goes off on tangents about Iraq and cars and other random stuff...I had her for pharmacology...she's ok...a little scary. Speaking of scary, she's made us all VERY scared of clinical.
