starting lpn school

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

I am starting LPN school this coming Tuesday. (1-06-04) Iwill be working as a social worker, trying to maintain a husband and child and go to school. I feel very fortunate to have been accepted and looking forward to it. After all the pros and cons of returning to school (I have a four year degree already) I decided to go for it.

Out of the clear blue I had some bad Pap results and have to have a leep done the second day of class. I am very stressed to say the least, and now wondering if women problems will come into play with all of the other stress I will be having with nursing school. I dont wont to turn down school now, I am enrolled and ready to go. Has anyone else had any similar issues?

Any advice would be great.

I want to be a nurse!

Take one day at a time and be very positive your outcome will be good! Do not get in a rut. We all have/will have health issues and must keep going. This is one issue to make you stronger and help deal with patients that are negative. Good Luck and never give up!!!! Cay

Hi!:)

I am new to this discussion board and I wanted to ask if anyone was as nervous about quitting their job and starting to school as I am. I am scheduled to begin my LPN classes in January which means I will have to quit my 12 year banking career. I have a husband, an 18 month old, and an 11 year old step daughter. Can I do this and keep my sanity????:crying2: I have wanted to be a nurse since I was 18 years old but never did it. I will be 31 this month and that is still my desire. I have all my pre-req's out of the way, except for English 111 and Psychology 241....I will be getting those out of the way during the next semester. Any advice??????
