NM nurse to be
172 Posts
So I'm finally getting to start the real nursing courses next week! This has been a long process getting to this point and I'm excited to get going. But I'm also a little intimidated, to be really honest. I read the posts here and wonder how I'll really do. The nurses at work seem to delight in telling how they 'killed off' this or that new nurse. Or how hard it's going to be. Maybe it really is that hard. But I'm determined to get through.
Anyone else starting next week? How are you feeling about it? I'm hoping I'm not the only one worrying.

You guys will all be fine! I already completed my LVN program and I too felt nervous after I started the real nursing part of the program (not just fundamentals). I was afraid to give injections and passing out the meds because some of the meds I wasn't sure of and I knew that I could potentially kill a patient. But that's what our instructors are there for, to make sure that we do what we're supposed to do and how to do it etc. You will be fine, just make sure you soak up all the information you can during clinicals. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck everyone
