Starting ABSN program in a week and a half!

Any advice or anything you have gone thru that would help? I am getting really nervous. I did rent books because I didn't have the funds to buy, but have the option to buy later. I have all my note taking stuff and an extra notebook in case. Ugh I am just so worried about it. I have read things about how bad it is. Anyone in one or just finishing one they can impart any words of wisdom?

This first semester is gonna be a b!t€h. It is 26 credits and I am sure designed to weed out those who can't handle. The rest of the semesters are normal loads of 12-15 credits! Any thing at this point I would appreciate! Thank you all!

I just finished my first semester of an ABSN and it was awesome! Yes, it was a bit stressful at times and I was definitely really busy, but I loved it. I think the best advice would be to not get freaked out and overloaded by everything. It's going to seem very overwhelming at first and it's going to feel like you'll never have time to get everything done, but it's important to focus on what is right in front of you. For most of the semester we had at least one, often two, tests a week. It was helpful for me to focus on whatever test was coming up, not on a test that was a week or two away. It's also great to get organized before the semester starts and try to stay organized throughout the semester so that during finals week, when you are super stressed out, you'll be able to refer back to old notes easily.

Good luck!

Congrats on beginning this crazy journey soon. Im in an ABSN program also and it has been really difficult to adjust to the pace. I have a biology degree already and I never studied for it as much as I have studied for this semester. All I can say is, have tons of paper, printers available (with tons of paper), lots of highlighters (literally, a pack of 50 is not too much), a recorder, flashcards (bunch of them), pens and pencils, and tylenol lol. Start early, do not get behind or you won't catch up. Always go to class and never be late. Read ahead if you can.

Learn your learning style quickly and go with that. Good luck!!!!
