I started at U of P 3 years ago this fall and had to stop when my daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia. Since then I have read so much pro and con (mostly con) regarding their program and the cost involved. I was wondering if anyone here has any success or experience with transferring any of their credits over to another school. I have about 5 or 6 classes under my belt and hate to walk away from them. Anyone?

I finished my Associates in General Studies, and my Bachelor's in Public Administration with UOP, and I had very few if any problems. Because Stephen F. Austin University (in Texas) accepted all my credits, I am eligible to apply for their Nursing program (BSN) in the spring. I'm finishing up some pre-reqs at my local junior college, but I know that some people have had issues getting credits transferred. Before you make any decisions, I would look at what nursing schools you are looking to get into, or where you plan to transfer before you make a decision. For example, UOP takes general subject CLEP tests for credit, whereas most public universities do not. SFA requires subject specific CLEPS, as they don't take generals. SFA took mine only because I was applying as a 2nd Degree student. Do some research, and make sure you keep track of who you talked to, when you talked to them, and what they said. Good luck!
Thanks for your advice. I am hoping to find a way to do this that is WAY less expensive. $1300 (give or take) is just crazy for us right now.

Hi, I was also enrolled with UOP online classes from Sept- Feb 2007 and my husband had a slip and fall on ice accident so I could not continue and I tried my community college for transfer but they didn't accept all my 12 credits. Good luck! Sorry about your daughter, just keep the faith.

Hope all is well with your daughter and our prayers are with you and your family for continued recovery. I finished my BSN-MSN program at UOP last year and now have a job as nurse educator. I had no problems with the school itself. Good Luck
