I was sooo ready two days ago! I was SOOOOOO excited! Then it all started to fall apart! First, I thought I had my daycare all ready. Picked the center, got all the paperwork together, and applied for state-assisted childcare. Now mind you I have been trying to apply for assistance for months now. They wouldn't tell me anything except " Come in about one week before, and we'll get you set up!" Okay, so I did! Today they inform me that my family makes TOO MUCH MONEY! :rotfl: :crying2: :angryfire NO ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER!

We are a 1 income family. 2 adults, 5 Kids (ages 12, 11, 9, 2 1/2, and 1) My DH brings home between $1300 and $1000 every 2 wks. Rent is bout' $650 food, gas, and bills per month- $1000 if I pinch pennies Majorly! Now Daycare is going to cost me $1000! And that's just for the babies!!!!:uhoh3:

What am I going to do!?!?!?!?:stone

Looks like beans and rice for dinner for 14 months till I get my LPN!

I already asked the only reliable relative I have in town to babysit!

Gotta NO there, she's to busy!

All my friends work for a living!

I am between a rock and a hard place here!

DH is opposed to private home daycare.

I guess I'm gonna have to get a weekend job! I really did not want to work while attending school. I got the 5 kids to keep me busy on the weekends! This next year is gonna be H-E-L-L!!!!!!:uhoh3:

Seven people and you make too much money???? Someone has to have gotten their numbers wrong, cuz that's not possible. In TN, you can make about 1200 a month for 4 people in a family and get state assistance, so I know you should qualify. Are the state's assistance programs that different?

Does your school offer daycare? Mine had a daycare center ran by the Early Childhood Ed students, and it was income based.

Do what it takes. It'll be hard, but you can do this. I went thru a divorce while I was in school. My ex is wonderful about taking care of the boys' needs, but I ended up taking out a school loan to help pay bills so I could get thru. Not the best option, but my only one at the time. We do shared parenting with no child support, which is how we wanted it, b/c I can depend on my ex to take care of whatever the kids need so there's no fighting over money. But since I wouldn't sign support papers, the county wouldn't help me out. I worked weekends and during school breaks. It was hard, but I worked nights so I could study and do homework in my downtime. Do whatever you need to so that you can have this career. It'll be tough, but it's worth it.
