How are you eligible for a Pell Grant if you are not a US citizen? Do you file taxes here? You are very confused on the Pell Grant. It does not cover all of your tuition if you are going to school for a BSN. It covered my community college tuition but BSNs are much more expensive. Plus nursing school is full time. You can do the prereqs part time, but the program itself is full time.
I think it would be best for you to go to a school and meet with a financial aid counselor. They will be able to answer all of your questions. I could only apply for my Pell Grant after I was divorced and paid taxes on my own, because when I was with my ex-husband, he made too much money for me to qualify. And I had to wait for the next tax year after our divorce to apply.

The maximum pell grant for the 2016-2017 school year is $5,815, but the amount you may be eligible for may be less.
