I am a nervous wreck, BUT i am so excited. Ive thought about what my life will be like for the next two years with class & clinical...and i have a plethora of feelings!... I start class in TWOOOO days, and i cant believe the time has come. I feel like I am still waiting for my acceptance letter to come....that damn thing took forever. :wink2:

Anyone have some overall advice about nursing school?... Tips for anxiety? Studying tips? How to get through it alive & well?...

Please let me know. I dont think it will really truly phase me that I am a nursing student until Monday morning when i go to class.. I have heard the first semester isnt too bad, but after that is when it gets hectic.....

Holy cow. I am a nursing student!!

Thanks all.

Take a deep breath! I wish you the best of luck... Also, you may or may not know this but this forum is really for RN's in their first year of nursing. You might get more people that can relate and appreciate your fears/excitment/concerns in the nursing student forum. Just a thought...

Anyway, keep us updated on your first day. And remember to study well and not too hard :D

First of all, although getting into nursing school was highly competitive and you probably were fighting to beat out the competition and get the highest grades, nursing school should not be as competitive. Your in, so breathe, and enjoy the experience. That is not to say that you won't work harder than you ever have in your life... just don't cry if you got an A- instead of an A.

My advice is learn how to balance your school life and home life. Although school will probably take up 90% of your time try to find some time to do things that make you happy too.

Don't slack off, it is not easy to catch up later and everything builds upon itself.

Have fun... learn a lot.... be patient with yourself and your classmates (they are going through it too).

When it seems like you are fighting an uphill battle and you feel as though you don't know how you are going to even attempt to be able to do all that is asked of you... just start... do something... place one foot in front of the other, and then do it again... eventually you will have climed the hill.... and all the hard work that you did, paid off... in fact you still may be in disbelief that you were able to make such great strides, and accomplishments... My point.... never give up and you will succeed.

The only failures are those not willing to try.

Good luck... Have fun.... Remember these times, they are precious.... Make friends.... Enjoy you clinicals and patients... Welcome to the world of nursing.....

Great advice. Thanks!

make sure you keep up on your readings and practice your skills.. always ask questions if you don't understand something.. and ask several people.. as nursejenni08BSN stated your classes and studying will take up most of your time, but remember to take care of yourself... don't wait until you are too deep in... meditate, practice yoga, do something to relax your body, but especially your mind.. good luck... we're here for ya:yeah:
