Hey guys! I'm starting this thread for the Stanford Nurse Residency, Cohort 41. Hopefully we can update each other on application processes, interviews, and job offers!
Applications open up at 12 am tonight! Good luck to all of us!

for adult they are offering just 30. I checked with the new grad program. I did listen to the webinar, did not hear anything about 80.

I feel like this was a fever dream at this point, LOL. I can't remember if it was during the q&a or if it was a question in the chat box, but I really remember that number, and that's what the said they were expecting back in March when they did the webinar. Sucks if it's changed, but it's so competitive I'm not surprised anymore 🫠🫠🫠! Thanks for the info 🙂

OMG that's scary! The probabilities are minimal, but I'm still praying. Sometimes I feel that came to nursing late LOL, it is hard to find jobs nowadays.

I agree! I feel like everything changed after covid! There is an influx of new grad nurses wanting to work in NorCal, but limited spots. Hospitals are looking to hire more experienced nurses since they require less training. It cost more to hire a new grad sice they require more training. That's why it's tough to get a job at a hospital as a new grad 😥
I get it, I'm still afraid that even having experience could be hard to get a job, hopefully no.

I am sure we won't struggle with years of experience! Every hospital career website have a good amount of openings for staff II postions daily! The struggle is for new grads. Let's stay hopeful! 🤗
You're right 🙂☺️🙌🏽

Like what are we supposed to do if new grad programs have limited spots.

I know right ?! I heard other options are long term acute care hospitals. . They pay less but if you have 6 months + experience there, it can substitute for the acute care experience requirements that big hospitals look for..

I see that some of Stanford's job listings don't include an experience requirement. Does anyone know if new grads can apply to these listings ? or is the new grad program our only option?
