I work in a busy, urban Emergency Dept. We get SO MANY patients with injuries due to stand-up sccoters (aka Bird scooters). Facial fractures, broken ribs, broken clavicles, etc. This is a major problem! How are these things allowed on the road? Very dangerous. It is my personal belief that legislation should be passed against these types of scooters.

Maybe it's just that TPTB aren't aware of the impact of these scooters.
I have a local legislator who is also an MD. I've spoken with his office and they explained that they would GLADLY look into any issue that could be of health concern if it were reported to them.
Maybe as some type of public health project, some data collection could be presented to an interested office.
