I just took a patient to a followup (post-op) appointment. I saw this sign posted prominently at the front desk.In the interest of staff safety, the following behaviors will NOT be tolerated:
-yelling
-profanity/foul language
-physical abuse
-threats and/or intimidation
These guidelines will be enforced for the safety of staff and other patients. If these guidelines are not followed, the authorities may be contacted.
I thought it was sad that we have to explain what decent behavior is, but at the same time I am glad that a facility is spelling out the fact that caregivers and staff will not tolerate unacceptable behavior.
