ADN in need
1 Post
I have worked for a company that was started hospital in 2004! No they have been attempting to get magnet recognition , but our staffing is horrendous! I thought after my 9.5 years of positive work history I got on magnet board and took over the critical care council ! I was a trained super user for Emr. Recently 3/13 we received a new CNO , who no thinks it's ok to give us 3 CCU pts , ER pt must be admitted within 10 minutes of order no madder if there is an ICU RN available up there. When you voice your opinion about pt safety u get targeted! I was suspended after another RN Drew her pts blood but put my pts label on it! I got suspended she did not ! Once I was put on trail regarding above , then it was I suspended for a family member complaint which I was never allowed to see so I was forced to resign! I love patient care but it seems like the RN is the **** on the bottom of the hospital administrators shoes! It's made me question my whole care choice, no matter how hard and good I am at my job someone with a bigger degree has the authority to ruin my 10 year career . We are taught as RN 's never to past judgment , but as an RN I had anotherRN pass judgment on me and use false information to get met to resign! Anyone have any advice for what I could do with my ADN. I just feel so bad for us regular staff nurses nobodies cares what we go thru unless a mistake happens, then my license and my house all my positions can be taken away. The administrator gets away with everything

I'm sorry, but my first suggestion is to always read your topics through, before you post them. I am one who typically thinks pointing out grammatical errors is petty, but your post is full of mistakes. I would start applying ASAP as it can take awhile to land a job now. Try something different like Home Health, OutPt, Dialysis, etc. Not everyone is made to work in a hospital. You could even just apply to another hospital that is in your local area if you want to try it again. Good Luck.

Don't worry, if OP's observations and claims are accurate, this organization will not hold up to the scrutiny of the Magnet survey process. They look at many different data sources - over a period of time and surveyors are experienced nurse leaders. I have never seen any organization who was able to 'fool' them.
In my part of the country, specialty experience trumps the BSN requirement, particularly for any certified nurses. Certainly, anyone with 10 years of ICU experience & a free & clear license would not have any problems getting a job.
