HELP! :( We are having problems on our unit between staff. Some work at another hospital and here. They are two faced. They act like they are our friends when they are here and it has come to our attention that they are badmouthing us at the other hospital. I hate that. Any suggestions from anyone?

I guess I would just be cool to them. I wouldn't search them out as friends and keep it on a professional basis. They may be "attention getters" and the only way they can be superior is to put down someone else. I wouldn't waste my time with them.

usually these types "out" themselves for what they are PDQ...so ignore it if you can. Address what you must directly with those you KNOW are doing this. And don't take it personally. What goes around comes around in the end.

Just be yourself and listen, but don't act the same as them. Those people get ferreted out pretty easily after awhile...They usually are the ones who don't feel secure with themselves....Just be aware and look out for you and your patients..Above all, don't let the pettiness get to you...It can really drain your energy, right everyone???

i work w/ a couple of dagger bearing self serving types. i deal w/ them by not telling them anything i wouldn't publish on a billboard. at least you are aware these two are nasty so you can protect yourself. tell them if they like the other place so much they should make it full time there and deprive you of their good company. this is rough i know. i agree w/ smiling blue eyes pettiness can be very draining.
