St Thomas Nashville New Grad Program

I was wondering if any Nashville people have experience with breaking the New Graduate Program contract with St. Thomas. My dear friend is very unhappy working at St. Thomas Midtown, but feels stuck there for two years due to the contract payback issue. After he was hired and signed one contract, they also made him sign a second critical care contract, which locks him in with more money he would have to pay back if he left before the 24 months is up.

From my understanding it is a $8000.00 program. The pay back is dependent on the time you spent in the program. If you have already worked 1 year then you would only owe $4000.00 to break the contract.
