1st RN Interview

Hello all,

I'm a new grad. Graduated in August '17, passed NCLEX in Nov. I've applied for a position for a StarRN (nurse residency) position. I got an email back and did my first video interview. I got a call this week to come in for an onsite panel interview on Mon. I was told to wear scrubs because I will be shadowing a nurse.

I'm little nervous and would appreciate any and all advice for my interview or for the StarRN program.

Thanks!

Bring a note pad with questions you may have about the job and company to show interest. Find out everything you can about the company online to get questions to ask. Learning their mission statement is a good start. Bring what you would as if you are prepared to work. Also bring in your resume, references, and relax. Seeing it as not only an interview for you but it's also you interviewing them helps take the nerves away a little. Good luck!

I think the ability to shadow a nurse would help you to know if the position is something that you want to do. Relax as much as possible, even though it is hard.

Show interest with appropriate questions. Also show knowledge of basic nursing skills and activities in the specific area you are interested in working. Be sure to address your goals for your career, if it corresponds with the position.
