Hello! I am a new grad nurse . I have PCT experience with Advent Health. I am very lucky to have been offered a new grad residency with my hospital in ED department at a very competitive rate. The issue is it's not where I want to live. I am very badly wanting to live in the st petersburg area and I'm currently in the dade city area. But I'm nervous that not only will the pay not be as good but the expenses will be much higher. Any input with starting nurse wage, ie with hca star RN starting salary with and without pct experience and baycare , same situation. Thank you in advance !

Baycare hospitals start new grad nurses at $27 plus $5 differential for nights. 2 year contract as with most hospitals. There are plenty of hospitals in the tampa st pete area. I cant imagine Adventhealth paying a substantial amount more than baycare for a new grad. If you have no issue about starting on a med surg floor, you should have no problem getting a decent paying job in the st pete area. However, getting in the ED anywhere else might be challenging for a new grad. What did adventhealth offer for pay at their residency?
They offered over 30 and ER. Also I worked for them as a PCT since January and have worked extremely hard when I came in. Thank you for your reply. I'm starting to realize I'm just being a brat at this point and need to be very thankful to my team for am amazing offer and opportunity. With differentials at 15 percent evenings plus 8 percent for weekends. I can always visit st pete ?
Thats true. No point to mess a good thing. Im curious, is this Adventhealth Tampa on fletcher and bruce b downs? And do you have to sign 2 year contract with that? I was on the website recently and it says they will take without it
No. It's in Pasco County, and I was able to sign a 1 year !
