St. Paul's School of Nursing-Queens 12 minutes exam?

Hi Everyone?

I sent my application for St. Paul's School of Nursing-Queens location last week, and today i just got a call to take a 12 minutes 50 questions computer base test this Friday the 9th, have someone taken this test? is this test similar to the HESI test? please can someone respond to me ASAP with any helpful tips or comments.

Hey, I am supposed to go in today at 12PM for it, I will let you know. When the woman called me (on the 6th) I called back because I was a little perturbed as to why they only gave me 2 days and I wanted to know what I should study?

Her reply was that this is not the entrance(HESI I guess) exam and its just a preliminary exam. She said I did not need to study for it and that if I did well I should have 40 dollars cash or money order ready and they can provide me with the book to study for the entrance exam.

There are several threads on both St. Paul's schools (Queens and Staten Island), over on the New York Region section.

From what others have posted in threads located above, the exam in question is something new the school has started doing, and is a sort of "IQ" test, not HESI or NLN (which come later in the application process).

You don't need to study anything. Like the poster above said, it's to test your IQ level. You have 12 mins to answer as much as you can. So if you don't know the answer just skipped that part. I took it few weeks ago and did very well. You will too. Good luck!

Yeah it was not that bad, there is a timer on the page that tells you how much is left. I passed it, taking the HESI on the 30th. I know a lot of people said the book really didnt help...but I figured it couldn't hurt so I bought it anyway

Ok what kind of math is on this 12 minute exam? Can anyone give me an example that was on the test?

Dont panic it was simple test, and all you need to do is get 16 questions right,,,,,,,,,

I just called and i have to go for the orientation on wed at 12:30 and take this IQ test! what kind of questions were on it? any examples? thanks!!!

Was speaking with my cousing at a family BBQ this summer about Saint Paul's Richmond (Staten Island), and she took the test (said it was easy) and was at once hit up to leave a deposit for the application process. :D

Long story short she kept saying "no" and declined to attend the program.
