St. Paul School of Nursing

Published

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone was applying to SPSON for the fall 2014. I went to their open house and took the entrance exam. I will be submitting my application soon then taking the hesci exam. I was curious to know if there was anyone out here doing the same ?

They are accredited.

My biggest concern is transferring to a BSN program. I would like to know what schools you can transfer too.

I hear chamberlain, excelsior and a few others that I don't remember the names.. Try searching for a thread, maybe you find answers about BSN. I'll do the same..

I know that Hunter-Bellevue will accept for sure. Accredited by what? I only know of them being accredited by abhes. I'm going to do more research.

i know of one person who is currently there she has one more semester left she said she didnt like it and another person whow basically said dnt expext alot if your here just to get the degree then this school is decent

has anyone done anything about finicial aide they said we should start the process now

and the whole acredidation thing they have cleared it up i also know nurses from this school that is currently working

the only thing they said about finding work is to keep looking because alot places want experience rather then a degree but something should come along

I just spoke to someone that on their second semester, she knows a lot of people that got their BSN after graduation and has no problem finding jobs. You have to network yourself, start building relationships from the beginning.. Don't just apply one or two places and expect to find a job.. Also have a good attitude, be professional from the beginning.

When I went for my interview they gave me paperwork to apply for financial aid and health assessment documents.

@blessedlady. I agree with you you do have to network and establish relationships and contacts. When this whole process is over I'm going to stry volunteering when I can at some of the hospitals. That way I can have some foundation to build on when I graduate.

They are accredited by the National League of Nursing. If you go to nln.org it will show you schools that have nln accreditation.

Yes.. I was thinking the same.. Or you can do internship while you in school ( shadowing a nurse) or externship.. It doesn't hurt to go the extra mile..

I was told that site showed membership, not accreditation. And St. Paul's own website doesn't say they are nln.
