St. Paul School of Nursing Fall 2019

Published

I haven't been able to find a thread on St. Paul School of Nursing for fall 2019, so I'm creating one. Has anyone taken the HESI exam yet? If so, what were your scores? I've only taken the SLE exam and scored a 23 on it. I take the HESI in a week.

I took the SLE Monday, they responded yesterday that I got a 23.....but I still have to do criminal background check, BLS CPR cert, send transcripts and HS verification which makes no sense, how would I get into Baruch if I did not finish HS.......................but Pscyh 101 is a pre req for HUMAN DEVELOPMENT, how do you take Human Dev and not Psych 101, thats like applying for an MS for Math and the school saying ''we will take your Cal 2 and 3, but you have to take Calculus 1 again'', makes NO SENSE, so I'm prob gonna take (unless they make an exception) composition and literature at Pheonix

WOW! okay...Did you get officially accepted for the Fall or did you they tell you have to do the steps mentioned first?

I passed the SLE and got a 23, so I don't have to take the HESI. I do have to do the level 3 CPR, anyone on Long Island know the cheapest spot to get this certification? Also, I can't believe I have to take Composition and Literature, which is basically English 101 and 102, I went to Nassau then Baruch and had to take Eng 102 over, now I have to take it for a 3rd time? Most schools Math and Science expire, not General Education, I'm going to speak with the admissions counselor tomorrow, she contacted me the next day letting me know I passed the SLE. It's not that hard but it's timed, I did not even finish it

Hey is this for the queens location .. that you are talking about ?

I will get accepted for Spring, as long as I get the CPR and pass background check

It is Queens location

In the information session they said the General ED does not expire, so why would you need to take it over?

Can you tell some more about Pheonix? How do they work? I wanted to pay for some classes online to get some prerequisites out of the way so I can focus mostly on Nursing classes, but im afraid I'lll waste my money because St Pauls won't take them. I wanted to take them at Portage Learning or Straighterline.

I will ask the the advisor if they take Geneva-Portage Learning online credits.

CONGRATS on passing!.... Honestly I spoke to the financial aid rep today to look at my numbers and they only gave me credit for one class. This is the schools way of ripping you off because I have a lot of the general ED courses completed at a previous school but because they are a little over 5 years old they don't want to accept them. My next challenge is paying for school. Financial aid and federal student loans don't cover everything.

Also don't stress too much because it took them a month to get back to me and let me know I was accepted into the program.

was this for Queens? How long along did you take your English classes?

For Queens, I took 101 and 102 twice 20 yrs ago

the school has a dumb rule that your science classes can only be 3 years old with a B+ and general ED can be 5 years old with a C+ or better

Has everyone gotten a head start with getting their physical and immunization records done? I am missing the BLS and CPR certifications. Also I already have an idea how my schedule will look like. Does anyone know if we will be able to go to in person class or will they still be doing somewhat remote?

Has anyone taken human growth and development at NCC and got the credit for it? Because I took PSY 216 at NCC and transferred it to my home institution transcript and St. Paul’s says it hasn’t been accepted. So I sent my NCC transcript to see if it made a difference
