Hello everyone! I'm a recent BSN graduate and I have an interview in a few days with St. Luke's Hospital (Texas Medical Center) for a spot in their Oct. 2015 Graduate Nurse Residency program. I was wondering if anyone had any insight, tips, or any experience at all with the type of questions they ask during the interview?? I'm stressing big time! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I interviewed last week and received an offer! The interview with the educator was very basic, getting to know me type of questions. They did ask two scenarios to diagnose and give interventions, and a delegation scenario. I interviewed with two units. The first was more laid back. Some behavioral questions but more the most part going over my interview. I was able to talk to two nurses who worked on the floor as well. The second unit interview was more formal with behavioral based questions and some stress questions (why should I hire you? Where do you see yourself in 5 years). Overall, process went very smoothly!
Thank you so much for the information!! And congratulations!! And what exactly do you mean when you say behavioral questions? That diagnose/interventions part makes me nervous :-/
Were you interviewed by just one person each? And did you interview with 2 units because those were your preferences, or is that kinda standard? Sorry for all the questions, just super nervous! Thank you again!
Behavioral questions like "describe a time when there was a conflict with a coworker" etc. You can google behavioral nursing interview questions and should get a few good ones to practice. I interviewed with two units because that's what they had available for where I wanted (cardiac). I interviewed with one educator for the first part. Two managers and then two nurses on one unit, one manager on the other.
Ok great! Thank you so much!!
When is your interview?
I interviewed with them yesterday and today. I think it went well! It was a smooth process like you said *Fingers crossed*
Aw yay I'm so glad! What units did you interview on?
The CV Tele unit (14 floor)...they were all so nice! What about you?
10 and 11 and I accepted 11!
What kind of unit is 11?
Cardiac step down!
