St. Louis University AMSN 2018

Published

Hey everyone! I was just accepted to St. Louis' AMSN for Fall 2018 and wanted to see if anyone else had been, as well. I've seen previous threads from previous years but not for this fall so I figured I would kick it off. If there are any students willing to share their experiences, please share them!

I'm excited to (potentially) start here, seeing as though it is my #2 school! Nice to meet everyone else who's been accepted!

Hi! I just submitted my application yesterday. Fingers crossed for some good news! How long did it take for them to give you your admission decision?

Not long at all! Then again, my definition of "not long" is a bit relative since there are some schools I applied to months ago and have heard nothing. But, just to give you an idea:

Applied: 1/12

I had a slight delay with my documents but those were all sent in by around the next week.

Accepted: 2/7

So it took them less than a month to get back to me. They've been really nice and professional whenever I would call and/or email any questions I had and have been consistently getting back to me pretty promptly.

Good luck in all your endeavors!

Awesome! That's great that they're prompt with their decision. I'm in the same boat because some schools I applied to months ago and still haven't heard back either haha

It's honestly driving me crazy! I've applied 9 schools overall, 1 of them obviously being SLU and the other 2 were some accelerated BSNs. My seat deposit for SLU is due on the 28th so if I don't get any acceptances by that point, I'm definitely taking it. And even if I don't get any further acceptances, I still feel really great about the university and will more than likely reserve my seat anyways. Judging by past reviews and doing a little more research on the school, I am feeling even more appreciative and thankful for an acceptance. I'm out of state and am flying in to check it out next week just to really get a good feel for it.

Nice! Yeah it seems like an amazing school! I applied to a couple ABSN programs and got accepted to one, but ideally I'd like to do an MSN program. Where are you flying in from?

Atlanta. I'd ideally do the MSN too for several reasons. It just makes the most sense to me. Also, I've basically maxed out on my undergrad loans so I wouldn't even know how to pay for it. Plus I definitely want to eventually be a NP so already and I've been told the curriculum is really solid for transitioning into that role.

Oh cool! Yeah I want to be an NP too. I'd be coming from California.

Well that is definitely a much longer flight than mine! I hope you get accepted! I'll be sending all my good vibes your way :)

Thank you! I hope so too! Is there a FB group for St. Louis up yet?

Not as far as I know!

Gotcha! Hopefully more people find the thread! I just reconnected with one of my mentors and forgot she had also graduated from SLU's nursing program!

I'm a bit confused about what they want for the transcript submission though because NursingCAS says to download a transcript request form to send to schools you've attended, but the website says to send them directly to the school?
