Hi everyone! I realize that this is an older post, but it's the only post I could find on the saint kitt's nursing program. So has anyone gotten in/studying there right now?? I am interested, but also have a few questions and concerns. I would love to hear from someone who has studied there or is there now....how you like the program and the island itself.
No matter where you get your credits, the only thing that the various State Boards look at is where you graduated from. Nursing is one of those sets of degrees where each school is protective of their own method. Now the school in St. Kitts might take a lot of transfer credits from other schools, but they might take them as "elective credit" rather than 1:1 replacement of core classes. The same might also be true of CSU. If you plan to graduate from a US school, make sure you find out exactly what they accept transfer-wise from other schools. On the other hand, if you're taking the NCLEX in NM, our laws specifically grant access to NCLEX testing from graduates of recognized international programs. You will have to prove that your education was in English, though and that the program accreditation is appropriate. Other states may or may not honor your NM license, however, if your education was not handled in the US. I don't know the law in any other state yet, because I've not tried transferring my license yet.
