  1. Hi so I am currently in nursing school and it has been stressful to say the least, but I was beginning to think that maybe nursing may not be for me and a friend suggested I look into the nurse esthetician as it would be less stressful and something i might enjoy. SO before I do anything drastic like quit school....I figured I should see if this is a real possibility to be an esthetician. Would I need to get my esthetician license after I get my bachelor's in nursing? and if so how many more years is that? I noticed someone asked about a master's degree, but it seems like the answer is we don't need the master's degree. Where can I get more info if this is the route I am considering taking? Are there really jobs out there for this field or is it hard to come by and what is the pay rate...is it esthetician rate or RN? If it's the rate an esthetician would receive wouldn't it be easier and less expensive just to go get my esthetician license and skip the RN route? I guess I'm wondering what is the advantages of being an RN esthetician rather than an esthetician What are the job descriptions... botox and....? If anyone has any info or can guide me to a place to get more info, I would really appreciate it! thanks in advance!
  2. Congratulations!!! Well done!
  3. thanks Kurd RN!!! I'm so sorry you didn't receive good news either! I think you will definitely make an awesome nurse! Keep at it! And yes if worse comes to worse at least we can go through this process together next year!!! :) thanks again for your positivity! You rock!!!!
  4. So I received my CCC letter yesterday! Not invited! I kinda knew though! My points were so low for that school. Guess now it's down to that last minute phone call from UP or OHSU or wait til next year! Anyway I just wanted to say thank you to those who have been so encouraging and supportive throughout this torturing process!!! So many great people on this forum! Once again congrats to those that have been accepted and I hope that those who haven't(like myself) will all one day reach our goal of becoming a nurse! I'm sure one day we will somehow cross paths! It is good to know that there are so many wonderful people getting into this field! Til then take care and best wishes to allllllll!!!!!!
  5. thanks for your reply! I found some posts and have been reading it! Thanks!
  6. Hi everyone! I am also interested in UVI. I am also in Oregon and applied to a couple of schools in Portland but so far I have been waitlisted and not accepted. It is so hard to get into nursing almost everywhere it seems these days. I know it wasn't this bad a few years ago, but I guess things have changed! Anyhow, I would also love to hear about cost of living, safety, the program itself, etc. I am to the point where I just want to get this done so I can start doing what I want to do!!!! Thanks in advance!
  7. orchid 10---yes I called and got their machine! Hopefully tomorrow I'll hear something! I don't know though...maybe you don't get a letter unless you get invited? I thought at least I'd get a letter telling me that I didn't get invited if that was the case...
  8. I am realizing today that maybe the fact that I didn't get a letter from CCC may be because I didn't get invited to the interview??? Does anyone know if they send out a letter for you to know that you did not get invited. I'm just kinda sitting here stocking my mail man and driving home to check it periodically! :) Maybe I shouldn't be waiting for a letter if I was not invited? Please help!
  9. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that got invited or accepted!!!!!!!! :yeah: :ancong!: Seems like a lot happened today! I'm still waiting on my CCC letter...seems like mine usually comes a couple of days after everyone else receives theirs! I also think my mail man will be happy once I get the letter! As well as my man! He says that there should be a support group for him and others that have to deal with us pre-nursing students! Hahahaha
  10. Zatoichi---yes I did! thanks for following up on it and for your concern! :) Now a little more waiting and we'll know!!!
  11. zatoichi--ummmm yes I just checked and I did get the email in April! Thanks for replying! It's prob just taking longer to get to me. Maybe it will get here tomorrow!
  12. I have not gotten my CCC letter with my points yet. I'm getting a little worried 'cause I read somewhere on this blog that you are suppose to reply by the 15th of this month? Is there anyone else out there who applied to CCC and have not gotten a letter either? Thanks!
  13. RachelEMT---I found out from Ashland's admission's office that last year all their alternates got in!! She emphasized that it varies every year though(I think she didn't really want to get my hopes up too high! :) ) This should kind of give you an idea and put a smile on your face that there is hope yet for us! :) :) :) Also I have a friend who is at OHSU and she said most of her friends were alternates!!
  14. pdxMHT---wow 54 is high...isn't max point 60? Maybe I'm just not remembering correctly. It was awhile ago when I applied...
  15. BTW I love this forum and how helpful everyone is and supporting everyone has been!!! Greatly appreciate all the encouraging words!!!!!! Thank you so very much!! I'm seriously checking this site more than I'm checking my facebook! ahahahhaa
