I'm just a Texas girl that's been comfortable down here for 23 years. I graduated with my BSN in December and went straight on into graduate school for my MSN in Nurse Education with Duke University. I opted for the distance program in order to be able to work wherever I want.
I am trying to forward my career as much as possible. I have a job offer in San Antonio with Methodist Children's in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant. I interviewed yesterday at St. Jude in Memphis and I'm afraid I have a really hard choice coming up.
I'm scared to death to leave my support system. I know nobody up there, and I know nothing about the city. My question is: can anybody give me a good idea of what its like to work for St. Jude? I'm trying to weigh this out. Is working up there for a little while, away from everything I know, possibly subjecting myself to some loneliness and tears, worth it for MY CAREER?
Don't know much about Methodist Children's reputation either...

I'm not you....but I would never, ever, EVER turn down a job offer at St Judes. If peds onc is what you want...there is no better place to be.
I have moved for jobs before, and been in places I have known no one - and its hard. Its lonely, and I missed my friends like crazy. But if it's what you want, go for it!
All the best.

Hi! I know this is from over 3 years ago however, can I ask you if you accepted a position at St. Jude? I am graduating this May and was looking to apply to St. Jude but was wondering if you had any tips! Thank you so much!
