St Joseph Tacoma Interview & Where

Published

Hi Everyone!

How are you?

Anyone who has interview experience in St Joseph Tacoma? Which part of the Center did you for? Can you please share your experience?

How is it working there? How's the training for the Residency?

Hope to hear from you! Thank you so much!

I worked there for 1.5 years in the CVICU. It was an interesting experience, often short staffing with a lot of floating to their PCU. Work on your cardio, as the stairs are faster than the elevators, which were often out of order

Hi! St.BaptistRN,

Thank you so much for your time to share your experience. This is valuable. If you have the time, can you share your Residency experience? Like in general, how the staffs were..Did you sign a contract?

If you are not comfortable to share here, you can send me a PM msg.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for your time!

I didn’t do a residency, aside from a brief orientation, as I came in experienced. The staff were always nice, leadership approachable. I do think they were chronically short staffed, at least as far as ICU goes. They are a union hospital, and during my tenure there, they had to adjust their break schedules to meet union obligations. I think I signed a contract of some sorts. I came from nonunion background, so I was indifferent to that sort of system.

Thank you so much! It is nice to know that they are always nice and they have approachable leaders. What made you decide to leave? Aside from the nonworking elevators? ?

I left because I joined the Air Force to pursue CRNA. I do miss St Joe and living in WA. They were planning on starting an LVAD program when I left, so I was disappointed I missed out on that. Either way, it’s a good hospital, it was a culture shock and being there definitely exposed me to new ideas and made me more flexible.

Wow! Great job! Congrats on pursuing your dream to be a CRNA and Thank you for your service.

To Novice Nurse with Bachelors in Nursing, what is the best advice you can give to start as a New Nurse?

What area would you recommend to start best to hone the basic or fundamental skills to be a great Nurse?

I appreciate the time and effort you put in answering all these. Not everyone miss their work place. Most people if not all, leave their work place with a heavy hurt and not wanting to come back.Environment plays an integral part in learning and working. But hearing from you, this speaks a lot on how St.Joseph Nurses deal with co-workers.Teamwork makes the dream work.
